I installed the wysiwyg hack on a GL site I built for my step-father and was very excited that he could use the wysiwyg editor to do his own updates (he doesn't know html). The editor is installed, works perfectly, etc., etc. I called my step-father to walk him through the story editor and the static page editor and to my surprise on his end he couldn't see the wysiwyg editor it at all - his textarea only had html in it. My father uses an iMac (I hate Mac) and so I'm assuming that there's some kind of incompatibility with his Mac browser (he's using IE for the Mac). Does anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions on how we might solve the issue so he can see the editor and use it? PS - I've already tried all the basic troubleshooting things like permissions, logging in as him (I had no problem using the editor when I did that), etc. and the hack itself is working perfectly. I really want to help him out 'cause he needs a site and GL is perfect for what he needs (this will be a small commercial site - he's a public speaker). Thanks all! -Ken

The HTMLarea hack does not work with the Mac version of IE.

This one might be an alternative, although it's not really WYSIWYG.

Creator is right. It only works with Windows IE 5.5 or better. I made this clear in the original article and the documentation. Htmlarea uses the contentEditable property only available in these browsers. TomW
