Group-based Calendars

Is there a feature in Geeklog, either built in or as a plugin, that allows for group "owned" calendars? Basically I need a personal calendar for a group...call it a workgroup calendar.
Thanks!

No, that concept isn't suppored by our calendar. ---The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

We set up a couple of "group" userids and have the members log in as the groupid. Not the best security, but since lots of stuff is logged by IP, and I trust members up to a certain point, it works OK.

I'm confused. Why isn't the basic Geeklog group functionality satisfactory?
Create a Geeklog group. Assign users to that group. All posts of interest to that group would be set to display only to members of that group.
The only problem I see in this is the creation of events. Either everyone would have to have event-admin access or a "group leader" would have to be the keeper of the event submission queue.
Am I missing something?

I think group calendaring is what he's after. For example, if you use GL in a corporation and where you have a bunch of projects you may want to have an individual calendar per project. I can see how you could use the one master calendar and tweak the event security flags to achieve this to a degree but if this is something used extensively you may find performance degredation when you aren't able to narrow the search to a calendar.---The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

It did occur to me to do this, but it's not a very clean solution. It's a drag to have to log in and out like that.

Group calendaring is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have to take a closer look at the calendar files and see how creative I can be...altho I'm not the overly creative type. Another thing that could work for me is some kind "filter by event type" that could be applied to the master calendar. For example, if I just wanted to just see anniversaries I could just click on a button to display just that. With that kind of functionality I could create group-specific events to filter on.
