archiving question?

How exactly does it work? If my stories are set to archive, does this automatically happen by date?
Also, how can I limit the amount of stories that can be displayed in a section before it starts producing pages. IE: I only want 5 stories per page.
Thanks in advance,
-Rob

We should really add this to the FAQ ... The Archive / Normal / Refreshing dropdown in the Admin's story editor doesn't do anything. It is a leftover from some idea that was never implemented.
The number of stories per page is set with the $_CONF['limitnews'] setting in config.php. Please note, though, that every user has his/her own setting in the display preferences for this ("Maximum Stories"
and when you change it, only new user accounts will pick up the new value.
bye, Dirk
