Upgrading from 1.3.4 to .5rc1

I tried to upgrade my geekloked site (there are no much information about upgrading...) and when i finalized, all was ok.
But later, when i restarted the browser, it was unable to log-in. Neither a normal user, nor the admin. I simply was listed in the connected users, but i have no rights of administration.
I had to restore the backup of sql and home...
On a story i saw something similar, and the answers told that the "problem" was fixed in the 1.3.5rc1... but i was upgrading to this version...
What could be happening?
Maybe the home must be empty before dump the tarball of 1.3.5rc1??
Thanx

Don't upgrade to 1.3.5rc1. This was a development release and there is no official upgrade path from that version (although you should find the necessary information on this site if you dig around a bit).
The current version of Geeklog is 1.3.5sr1.
As for the update: The best thing to do is to remove all of the old files and upload the new files afterwards. You could run into all sorts of trouble if you miss a file and have a mixture of old and new files afterwards.
Specifically, I remember one case (hi Bob) where the symptom you have was the result of a mixture of old and new files.
bye, Dirk

Yeah, I installed the new version inside my empty home, and the upgrade was successful. Thanx Dirk
