Userphotos and Images Upload - Error in upload.class.php

Hi there,

when I try to upload photos I get the following error message:
(GL 1.3.8-1sr2)

Warning: copy(/home/www/web76/html/xy/images/userphotos/tmp.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/web76/html/xy/system/classes/upload.class.php on line 522
Couldn't copy /home/www/web76/html/xy/images/userphotos/tmp.jpg to /home/www/web76/html/xy/images/userphotos/Admin.JPG. You'll need remove both files

I've already checked the permissions of /images/userphotos (777), /images (777) and the netpbm 1.1 directory (also 777).
The path to netpbm is inside my geeklog path ( /home/www/web76/html/xy/netpbm/) and entered with a trailing slash.

After uploading the picture, there is a image named Admin.jpg (which is identical to the image I uploaded), but there are no other files (like a resized admin.jpg or even the tmp.jpg mentioned in the error message).

The public_html folder is in the web root, also the config.php. Except this error GL works fine.
Unfortunately the server I use is only a virtual server. By using phpinfo() I found out, that it is running Suse Linux. So I used the Linux-Version of netpbm from the gallery-project. Is that correct? Or is it possible, that netpbm can't run in this envoronment? How can I test that?

Thanks for Your hints in advance,

Psychotec

I remember having the exact same error... however, I have no clue how I fixed it. Try grabbing Gallery 1.4-pl2 geeklog integration. Config it to use netpbm (the same thing you have GL setup for) and turn on debug mode (you'll see it during the config process). Upload some dummy pictures or wallpapers you have laying around your harddrive and see if you get any errors.

Also, make sure you remove both the tmp.jpg and Admin.JPG files. Double and tripple check your perms (775 or 777. Beyond this... Confused Question

I've tried that, Gallery works perfect together with netpbm. For testing purpose, I've set ALL permissions to 777... but the problem persists.

BUG???

I only know that I have the same error, see this topic. Unfortunately, I haven't found out to fix it yet (I haven't had the time to REALLY debug it, either). If you find out how to fix it, let us know.

Ok, I found out what the problem was. See my ">original thread. As usual, it was "operator error". Wink
