I've installed the forums, geeklog told me the installation was successful. Although a bit involved for a minor geek like myself (no php experience), I thought it was done. I entered a category, and a topic. Even entered 2. forum still continues to show (N/A) in the admin homepage. To users it's invisible. Any suggestions to trouble shoot are greatly appreciated.
Hosting at godaddy (linux).
Also having problems with users not receiving emails (not going into a junk folder, already checked). I'm pinging godaddy support about this. Don't know if this could be related to the issue, although I don't think so.

at Godaddy host it was always like that. I have this experience before, that's why I change my host to another one.
thanks.

The forum should be visible. Have you tried posting, refreshed the page?

Corrected the email issue. Godaddy was helpful in resolving. I've now found the infamous error log. Appears when I installed the forum, even though online it told me it installed properly, there are several pages of errors. In typical debugging fashion, by correcting the first error, it will likely take care of the downstream errors.

Any direction as to the next step to get the forum working is appreciated.

Could you give details please? What GL version, what forum version, how did you install? :kickcan:

GL 1.5.1
forum_2.7.1_1.4.1
Backed up the database
Created directory 'forum' in public_html and public_html/admin/plugins
Copied file contents from the new plugin's public_html directory to the forum directory in public_html
Copied file contents from the new plugin's admin directory to the new forum directory in publich_html/admin/plugins
Copied directory forum from new plugin's themefiles directory to
public_html/layout/professional/forum
copied lib-portalparts.php to the system folder.
Installed.
I recently deleted it, checked everything, installed again but got the same set of errors. It appears to explode when trying to create a table.

The error log does not only show errors but also partly the successful installation of a plugin.
The only funny thing I can see is the table prefix "tr" instead of gl. Is there any reason for it, did you try the normal prefix?
But anyway, this is more important: Again: Have you tried posting, refreshed the page?

Thanks everyone for the help. I deleted and reinstalled. Had the same problem but I fixed it with a hammer and some duct tape.
