I'm having difficulty getting thumbnails to align correctly on the main page of the log. I can add a photo to the description, but then it's below the heading information, and if I set it to left align all text it will actually affect the posting below. I'd like to have the title of the post, the post date, and all the summary information aligned to the photo, not just the summary.
Is this at all possible?

If you don't have a lot of text to wrap the image in to, you need to do a "clear:both" in CSS somewhere after the image, e.g. like so:
Text Formatted Code
<div style="clear:both;"></div>

It's not so much that as I want it to wrap the heading and entry date. Not just the body text of the posting. Basically an image thumbnail that will go to that posting.

That souns like you'd need to do some creative rearranging of the contents of the story templates (everything with "story" in its name in your theme's root directory - start with storytext.thtml).
