Is there any way to hack static pages call it something else and reuse it as a user pages feature ? assigned to a specific group ?

Almost but UPAGE has no Rich Text Editor, I want a modern static pages I think codiong this is out of my depth.

It's more "search and replace" than coding.
You would have to go through the code and adjust all URLs, paths, the table name, and the names of the permissions and admin group. Shouldn't be that hard to do, but you would have to make sure not to miss any occurences or you'd end up mixing things with the static pages plugin ...

It's part of Geeklog 1.4.0: public_html/admin/plugins/staticpages/install.php
The plugin requires Geeklog 1.4.0, but you uninstall and then reinstall it - just like a regular stand-alone plugin.
