I've just been locked out of Geeklog on my server it said this

We have established rules for access to this server, and any person or robot that violates these rules will be unable to access this site.

How can I get back in, there are no virus's or any other of the points mentioned ??

It means you installed the famous anti spam plugin called Bad Behavior. Ever heard how back in the 1960's The Rolling Stones thought it was a good idea to hire The Hell's Angels to guard their concert? Well, this is kind of the same thing in web admin terms.

So keep or uninstall ? it seems OK it unlocked a few mins later, whats the general view on this ?

the only IP address that appears to be comming up is the server address ? surely bad Behaviour should show the IP of the offending machine ?

Assuming you can get back into your site by now Simply go to Bad Behavior's admin menu and check the entries there. This is something the original plugin doesn't have, so Michael's article doesn't cover it. Find the entry for your IP address (or the time, bearing in mind that timestamps are in UTC) and click on the number in the first row. You'll get an explanation of why you have been blocked.
