Hi,
No, is not Knoppix.
OutSite-In integrates in each site on CD
SilAMP, our Silent AMP manager.
To learn more about SilAMP go to:

If it only gets data from your web root, then no it won't work.
How do you search for the files above the web root?

Well you can install GL in the webroot. I rather wonder how it handles cookies.

Hello,
DTrumbower, with OutSite-In FTP Client, the directory you decide starting to browse is considered as your webroot.
For my information, what kind of files do you have above the webroot that need to be included? Maybe we can find a solution if it's a common need...

Hi again Setec,
We have been developing
OutSite-In[*5] in close relation with MySQL since the beginning.
MySQL is interested in OutSite-In growth and popularity and doesn’t see any contradictions with its dual licensing.
- Concerning the GPL, you should read the Wikipedia article, and especially the GPL-related disputes part:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_General_Public_License[*6]
You should also read about the Derivative Works meaning in this context:
http://www.rosenlaw.com/lj19.htm[*7]
For your information:
* OutSite-In is not linked to MySQL (server or client) in any way (nor statically, neither dynamically). We only start the service, just like MS Windows does when you have a standalone MySQL server installed. This is also true for Apache and PHP.
* The binary versions or apache, PHP and MySQL used by OutSite-In are the standard packages and no changes have been made to the source code.
- Concerning MySQL, the question is still more complicated, due to their multiple licensing system.
Here is the official response from MySQL France, when we asked them about licensing issues (translated from french):
"Hi,
Following your phone call [...]
OEMs, software editors and VAR who distribute MySQL with their products, and don't offer the source code of their product under the GPL license have to buy a commercial license of MySQL.
Your application OutSite-In is not distributing the MySQL physical server. In this context, you don't have to buy commercial licenses of MySQL
Sincerely,
Dorothee Wuest
Ingenieur Commercial
MySQL AB, Paris
www.mysql.fr
"
Hope it is all clear.
Why don't you just say you are our competitor and you are trying to dirt our image? Use your time to improve your product and not posting nasty messages in every forum you find.
Cheers!

I have contacted MySQL AB and they have told me their legal department is investigating to see what actions they can take against your company.
Your application "OutSite-In" is not distributing the MySQL physical server.
Your application "OutSite-In" is distributiong the MySQL physical server. As a matter of fact your package Setup_OutSite-In_Std_v.2.0.rev201.exe contains GPL covered code in the "OutSite-Insilampmysql" folder (i.e. mysqld.exe).
Maybe if you tell Dorothee Wuest that you are currently selling their GPL code in closed source package, she may change her point of view about your product.
Why don't you just say you are our competitor and you are trying to dirt our image?
Why you don't tell the real truth to Dorothee Wuest?
Why you don't ask clearly to MySQL AB if you (and all your customers) must buy and OEM License to distribute MySQL in a closed source package? I have asked the same question to MySQL AB and they have answered me:
To sell a product that contains MySQL they should have an OEM license.
Do you have an OEM license?
Maybe you have just hoped that nobody will have taken care about it?

Okay you two - can you please take your little discussion elsewhere?
I'm going to close this discussion now (should have done that long ago). Any further posts on this subject will be deleted.
bye, Dirk
