I just updated a site to the new Geeklog here 1.4.0.sr.1 and after I finish I get the message
An SQL error has occurred. Please see error.log for details.
When I hit my error log I see this:
Sat Mar 4 23:07:28 2006 - 1054: Unknown column 'status' in 'field list'. SQL in question: SELECT status FROM gl_users WHERE uid=2
Sat Mar 4 23:09:41 2006 - 1054: Unknown column 'status' in 'field list'. SQL in question: SELECT status FROM gl_users WHERE uid=2
I made a mistake somewhere, any ideas where?

Did you run the install script (in upgrade mode)? Did you really upload all the new files?

I couldn't get to the installer script.
From what I can tell every new file has been uploaded.

What do you mean by that?
You will have to run the install script to update your database.

It's not giving me the option to.
The error message reads when accessing from my browser (Firefox 1.0 same error in Safari)
An SQL error has occurred. Please see error.log for details.
The same error log issues pop up.

Not sure what you're doing there. Enter the full URL to the install script directly, i.e. http://www.example.com/admin/install/install.php

You should of course replace "example.com" with the proper domain name ...

What's the proper URL for your existing Geeklog site? It's obviously not http://jprsol.com
Attach admin/install/install.php to your URL and you should get to the install script.

Sun 05 Mar 2006 03:11:40 MST - 1054: Unknown column 'archive_flag' in 'where clause'. SQL in question: SELECT tid FROM gl_topics WHERE archive_flag='1'

That sounds like you still didn't run the install script to upgrade the database ...

The test script will only check permissions of a few files and directories. It does not perform any checks on the database.
The error message you quoted above indicates that you are trying to run Geeklog off of a database that has not been upgraded yet. So you either didn't run the install script, or it failed, or you're running it on the wrong database.
Since I obviously can't see what you're doing from here, please retrace your steps or provide more information ...

I put this in
http://www.mywebpage.com/geeklog/public_html/admin/install/install.php
I switched it to upgrade Database.
I selected my version of Geeklog from the menu and it from there it said it was successful.
But still nothing.
I selected my version of Geeklog from the menu
Which was? 1.3.9?
But still nothing.
Meaning what exactly?
The 'archive_flag' it was complaining about in the error message you quoted above was introduced in 1.3.10. So if you're upgrading from 1.3.9, selected 1.3.9 as the version you're coming from in the install script, and it was successful, then you shouldn't get that error message any longer.
