Hi there, Everytime a guest or registered Users submits an article, Geeklog doesn't save the new entry. It get lost and I do not see it in my admin panel. I am running GL 1.4. I am a long time GL User for years and successfully updated from version to version without any serious problems. I disabled all my plugins, including the spamx plugin, switched to the default theme. There isn't any error in errors.log. Admins are able to submit articles and submissions are saved correctly. I also realized that GL doesn't loads the status message. You are immediately redirected to the home directory without any message that GL saved the article. Strange, huh?
Is there any way to do a downgrade or export all my data (users, comments, stories...) and reimport them into a new installation? I can no longer use Geeklog with this big bug.
Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you for your help!

first of all check all your file versions and make a backup of the database.
install a fresh version of GL files in another directory and do not install the database. point the fresh install to the old database and see if it works there. if it does not, something is wrong with your database.
on the other turn around, install a new set of tables and point your old installation on it and see if it works there. if it does not, your files are wrong.
its somehow trial and error, but it will get you there.

Hi Tokyoahead,
Thank you for your help!!Yes, it seems something is wrong with my database. A "fresh database" with my old files works fine. It is only Story Submissions which do not work. Link submission from guests are added to my admin panel.
Hm, I also compared the storysubmission table structure with a the "fresh database" from GL1.4. Is there anything else that I can try to solve my problem?

Well to be honest I would check all tables in that case.
Compare the new install with your old one for DB changes. You might have problems somewhere that you simply did not realize yet that might create more trouble.
a method for doing this might be exporting both table structures with phpmyadmin and comparing the text line by line. you might spot differences easiest.
