OK folks of the geeklog community this is my problem.
I have my website like this
http://www.dcmotoring.com = my main site
http://www.dcmotoring.com/store = my online store
http://forum.dcmotoring.com = my geeklog site
forum.dcmotoring.com is set to my /public_html directory and it works like a charm, basically like an alias forum.dcmotoring.com is set to http://www.dcmotoring.com/forum/publc_html
I have gallery2 installed at http://www.dcmototing.com/forum/public_html/gallery2 or http://forum.dcmotoring.com/gallery2
but my gl-gallery2 plugin adds an extra /public/forum to it's links
instead of being forum.dcmotoring.com/gallery it turns out being forum.dcmotoring.com/forum/public_html/gallery
Gallery2 plugin

Believe it or not, the way I've set up the config for the paths is the simplified version. There's yet another path required by Gallery2 which I compute from $_CONF['site_url'] and $_GLG_CONF['public_dir']. It is possible that for your setup this does not work.
Could you email me your GL_Gallery2 config.php and tell me your $_CONF['site_url'] so I can take a peek?
