Hello-
I have discovered that a site I run is behaving oddly. Like previous posts in this forum which describe a situation in which someone with story admin rights can't edit stories (due to group/topic assignments), I have a situation which involves events. I gave someone event admin rights. That person can see the events in the admin section, but when she clicks on an event title to edit it, she gets the message "You are trying to access an event that you don't have rights to. This attempt has been logged. Please go back to the event administration screen." Since events aren't (AFAIK) tied to topics or groups, I am not sure what is going on. Are there other settings I should be investigating?
Thanks,
Alex

Check the group permissions, specifically the group edit rights ("Group E").

Thanks for the quick response, Dirk.
You were correct - the group editing permission on each event was set such that the event admin could read, but not edit, each event. Only the root admin (me) could edit them. I will go back and check that "E" box in each event's permission section.
One more question: can I change this so that the default permissions on all new events is such that event admins automatically can edit them? IOW, make that event admin group edit checkbox come pre-checked?
Thanks,
Alex

The default permissions are hard-coded, unfortunately.
In admin/event.php find this line:
$A['perm_group'] = 2;
(that should be line 116 in that file) and change it to
$A['perm_group'] = 3;
