OK, I figured out how to change the wording on the menu by searching the forum......what I want to do is this:
instead of using text links in the menu, I want to specify a .gif image in its place. My menu is set and will not be changing, so where do I go to insert the call for the image? I am on GL 1.3.11 & am using the stock "Professional" theme.
Thanks!

No, my bad. For example, here on geeklog.net, the upper left block that is titled "Forum Menu". What do I need to do to replace the text links with .gif images with hyperlinks?

If you've created a box of links using the "normal" block type, then you've undoubtedly used a bit of HTML in there. Adding images to those links is just a little bit more HTML--the img element enclosed in an 'a' element.
for example: <a href="somelink">< img src="somepic" /></a>

If you replace a navigation menu with images, you should not forget to use the "alt" tag, so users can navigate without images.
<img src="my_image.gif" alt="HOME"/>
or something like that

To nitpick: There's no such thing as an alt tag - it's an attribute
Good advice, otherwise.
