$_DB_host = 'altermedicine.org'; // host name or IP address of your DB server
This is probably wrong. At least it would be very unusual to have your domain name for the database server name here. Leave it at "localhost" and try again (haven't looked at your paths).

Well then, looks like the login is working.
Check with ipowerweb on the name of your database. Many hosts put a prefix in front of the name you've selected for a database, especially when they use a control panel (like vDeck or cPanelX) for you to control your site.
If your host provides phpMyAdmin access, launch that, and check that your database name is really 'altermed' and not something like 'web_altermed' or 'hosted_altermed'.
If you aren't sure how to check that, goto iPowerWeb.com, then visit the Help Center, their tech support should be able to help you find the name of your DB.
