I am trying to install Geeklog on a Windows XP box using Apache2, PHP5 and MySQL.
I have been through the instructions carefully and all paths etc are correct. When I get to step one of the install it displays the correct paths. The problem occurs as soon as I hit the next button. It does something but remains on the screen and what it does is very quick. As far as I can tell the browser (Firefox) displays a message in the bottom left hand corner of the window as follows "Waiting for myservername". I have not been able to determine the cause.
It seems that it is not to do with the Geeklog installation but I'm stumped.
Can anyone throw some light on what the cause might be or where I can start to look?

I have resolved the problem which was described in an earlier post. With Geeklog and PHP5 register_long_arrays must be set to on in the php.ini file (and don't forget to restart Apache).

Thank you, that solved my problem too. I upgraded to PHP5 from Marc Liyanage's site and could no longer log in. I added register_globals on and it still didn't work. I was starting to pull my hair out, thanks for saving me from premature baldness.
