i am hosting my geeklog at a site where the file's owner:group is set to nobody:nobody because that's how php does it. the file permissions are set to 644. this does not allow me to edit or remove the images in the images/userphotos and images/articles folders.
is there a way to control this as is? is this going to require a hack? is there a workaround?

no. i was ssh-ed into the box and didn't have permissions to make those changes. i have to get an admin to do it. but i need to set it so that i don't have to bug them when i wan them changed.
their comments were as follows:

PHP runs under the web server, which means that it runs as
the same user(nobody). There is no way around this, so if
you want files that you can modify yourself, you will need
to put this part into a Perl script. Perl runs under suexec
so it will switch to your user before running the script.[/QUOTE]
it's up to me to code it so that i have control.
