I have tried to limit the number of search results per page.
First, at config.php. No way.
Then I went to searchclass.php and fixed the number, just for testing:
// $resultLimit = $_CONF['max_search_results'];
$resultLimit = 20;
NO WAY. The page shows all history results. SInce I have users with more than 1000 histories, this task takes a lot of CPU resource and also take more than 30 seconds...
Is there a way (may be a hacker way!!!!) of show a limited number of results???
Thanks in advance for anybody that can help me

I really missed. Sorry.
If I was a programmer, I would like to rewrite the class, in order to help you to have a better sollution.
It is really a problem with users with great number of histories.
Is there somebody in the community of developers that I would write to try a systemic solution? I can give a detailed briefing, just by give the examples of users that are not working (timeout) etc.? Thanks again for your quick feedback!

I know, we have the same problem here on geeklog.net.
There's already some code for paging in the search class, but I have no idea how close (or not) that is to being usable. Tony was the last one who worked on that - he may know ...
