I have set the number of stories per page to 5, but where do I go to change the number of stories that appear on the home page?
I've looked around for it but haven't found anything so far.

Actually, $_CONF['limitnews'] (or the number set in your preferences) defines the number of stories per page - for all topics.
This is
listed as a bug[*1] , but hasn't been addressed yet ...
