Have you add the forum plugin CSS to your theme's style.css file?

Well you can start by reading the install_doc that is part of the plugin distribution. It's in the main plugins/forum directory

I read those docs, I just kinda dont understand. I mean I dunno how I got all this done really. Im just starting to learn this stuff. Really I was messing with geeklog for 2 days before I got it right then the forum plugin for a day than I had to re install everything over again on the account of a sql error I received after I saw success lol.
So I was kinda hoping maybe someone could be kind enough to tell me step by step how to get this done

Well, I'm not sure what more I can explain then how I have written it in the install_doc. I'll quote it here and you tell me what you need help with.
Step 3. Update Template Files
Each of your sites templates or themes will need to have their CSS style definition files updated. The template files are located under the public_html/layout//forum/ directory. The styles to add are contained in the additional-forum.css file located in the archive plugins/forum/themefiles directory.
Add the new CSS defintions defined in the file "additional-forum.css" to your themes style.css file.
Customize the fonts and colors to please. You will notice most effect initially by changing the following CSS definitions:
.forumclass1
.forumclass2
.forumclass3
.forumclass4
.forumoutline
