Any developers out there that would like to develop a gradebook plugin for GeekLog? I use GL for
my teaching[*1] (especially distance ed courses), and the only complaint that I get are from students is the lack of a gradebook. I assume that they would like to have that information right on the site: something each could login and access, rather than sending me email asking about their grades.
It would obviously have to have an instructor account, a way to add assignments (and categories and classes), a way to add and calculate grades, and a way for students to see how they're doing. (I'm probably missing something.) I would appreciate any comments on this idea. I could see this as a BIG boon for GL in education. Thanks.

Depends on how complicated it needed to be.

Do you grade on a curve? How would you do give importance to homework, tests, essays, etc...
IE:
Tests = 40%
Homework = 20%
Essays = 30%
Participation = 10%
Actually I answered my question, I have a few other projects I'm working on if you like I'll add it to my list. Shouldn't take long.

Over-all Grade, Further break downs so that there can be multiple periods and/or terms ie a English teacher teaching English 101 10am-11am and 12am-1pm on tuesday and 10am-11am on Thursday without getting the students mixed up or grouped togeather. Assignments will be able to span class to prevent having to enter multiple times. Multiple Subject Support...

Thanks. Since I am not a programmer, anything you can do would be helpful. I'm good at design, but I'm in literature for a reason...
