My new website is up and running.
Lawresearchgroup.com[*1] I have integrated x-cart and geeklog to make a pretty dynamic site. I have some custom blocks showing my bestselling items and random items from a selected category. Next, I am working on integrating both the x-cart and geeklog logins and a way for people to sign up for a special subscription through x-cart. Let me know what you guys think.

Would have been nice if you had attributed the code to Geeklog!

I'm pretty sure he had to pay for the custom services.
And another note, as a plugin developer I know it takes 2-3 times more effort to get a plugin ready for general distribution then it is to write a 1-time use component. Then add the time that one needs to continue to contribute to support it.
Code that is released before it's ready for general use and without someone supporting it is just fustrating for most to try and use.

Blaine:
I think "Coward" was talking about attributing (not contributing) the code to Geeklog. I think he means putting something like "powered by Geeklog" statement at the bottom of the page.
Since this is brought up. What is the rule? I also build web site for others and love to give credit to where it belongs. However, is the credit that is already in the code files enough? Or we MUST mention Geeklog somewhere in the web site to be able to use it?
I am sure most builders would worry about exposing their recipe and lose business to the competition. Another problem is we have to explain what "Geeklog" is when people see it on the site we build for them. For some conservative sites, they might not even like the name.
Even this morning, I checked out a local business website and found it to be built on Geeklog, with no mentioning of GL. If they do, then they might also need to mention PHP, MySQL, ImageMagick, the theme maker, Apache, the HTMLArea maker.
Maybe we need to read the license again to find out what kind of things we do would violate the license, and what is the appropriate use of the codes.
Happy Easter!
Sam

Our position has always been pretty much "we consider it nice to leave it in, but it isn't required".
All this has been discussed before (and more than once). See
here[*2] for me saying the same as above 1.5 years ago or search for "powered by".
bye, Dirk

I will be putting the powered by Geeklog back on there. Kudos to Blaine too who helped me with put the x-cat blocks together and convert my Yabbse forum!
