Hi,
I want to install a photo album plugins on my Geeklog site but I'm not sure which one to use. Gallery (http://gallery.menalto.com/) seems to fit my needs but I also hear of :
- 4images (http://www.4homepages.de/)
- Coppermine (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/)
- Any other ?
Did any of you tried them all or have suggestions on which one is best for Geeklog.
Thanks for any feedback on your experience with photo albums.
Danisk

I have only used gallery. It has worked very well for me. If you choose to use it, the latest release candidate (1.4.3 RC1) has support for geeklog - i.e. very little configuation or code changes needed to use geeklog authentication and layout. You may want to wait a week or two until 1.4.3 becomes final.

Gallery is very powerful, e.g. it has Slideshow and you can view huge original size on click.
4images is elegant. It allows you to send eCards off the photos. One thing is that I havn't seen a new version for two years. With the new Gallery coming with GL automatic integration, 4images is left behind for those who don't want to bother with manual integration.
I have some sites with 4images and others with Gallery. I love both for different reasons. So it is a tough choice.

I'd recommend Gallery if you're mainly going to be posting photos yourself, and 4images if your users are going to be posting a lot of photos.
My main GL site
www.type34.org[*1] uses BOTH at once! I use Gallery for stuff that'll never change like scans of Owner's Manuals, Brochures, etc. Then my users each can request their very own 4images gallery to upload photos of their cars, events they attend, etc.
Seems to work out ok, but I'd prefer if Gallery were more multi-user friendly. I used to use Gallery for that same purpose, but after 100 users it completely crashed...that sucked.

I would be willing to apply $ to a Coppermine bridge to geeklog. I love Coppermine as a gallery program, but it doesn't integrate with geeklog currenty. (Someone PLEASE prove me wrong!)

Hello.
Can anyone tell me how to integrate 4images into Geeklog 1.3.9 ?!
I found this page (instructions)
here[*2] , but it's for Geeklog 1.3.7.
I Would like to know if it is the same for Geeklog 1.3.9, because I don't want to mess something up.
Tx.

Gallery v1.4.3 has been released! I integrated it in my site yesterday and it seems to work great.
