AFAIK, you can't create a new database yourself on Lycos - they will create one for you when you sign up with them.
So all you need to do is to enter the information to access that database (hostname, database name, password) into config.php and follow the rest of the installation instructions.

i found the name of my db, but now i get this "An SQL error has occured. Please see error.log for details.", and in the file error.log it's only this "*** dummy entry ***". What's the problem?

When did you download Geeklog? There was a bug in the install script (it should display errors in the browser, as it doesn't really know yet where the error.log is), but that has been fixed recently.
See my second post
here[*1] for a workaround.

Sorry, the error was "Thu Nov 13 21:57:43 2003 - 1146: Table 'flasher_uk_db.gl_blocks' doesn't exist. SQL in question: SELECT is_enabled FROM gl_blocks WHERE name = 'whosonline_block'"
I am sure that my db name is "flasher_uk_db" bu it adds ".gl_blocks" to it... How can i solve this problem? What will be the $_DB_host for Lycos, "localhost"??
Thanks.

That name looks perfectly okay - it's the name of one of Geeklog's tables (gl_blocks) appended to the name of the database.
"localhost" for the db host is usually fine. Lycos used to have fairly extensive documentation for their hosting offers - did you check it?
The actual problem seems to be that you either didn't run the install script or that it didn't finish successfully.
