Hey all,
I have a simple question that I just can't figure out. I used to have it that my stories used to be listed in reverse-chronological order (i.e. newest story first, oldest last). However, after I reformatted and remade my site, I can't find this setting again! I've looked through config.php as well as the admin panel in geeklog. The closest I can find is just a user preference..but you have to be logged in to see it that way. I want it that way as default.
Thanks in advance,
KM

Stories are always sorted by date (newest first) - there's no option in Geeklog that lets you change that.
You can hack your index.php, though. Search for "ORDER BY".
bye, Dirk

hmmm..for some reason, my index just appends the new ones last. see my site (www.wannasblog.com) to see what I mean. I wonder how this is happening if it's coded to do just the opposite! Could having an incompatible theme have anything to do with it?
Thx,
KM

well I fixed it. My index.php file said
$sql .= "ORDER BY featured DESC, date DESC";
I simply deleted the DESC and it all works great now!

OK..it turns out that that was NOT the problem. I am still having a terrible time with the story order. However, I think I have found the issue. I just don't know how to fix it. It seems to be ordering the stories bye the actual DAY that they wereposted on, not the date. It's ordering them Sunday - Saturday...not in chronological order of their DATE (i.e. the 10th or 11th or whatever). Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance,
KM
