After a successful installation, I get the following error message when trying to load the main page:
1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '= gl_comments.sid) AND (gl_stories.perm_anon >= 2) AND (gl_stories.draft_flag = ' at line 1
I checked my geeklog "error.log" file and this is the corresponding entry:
Sun Oct 12 14:51:39 2003 - 1064:
You have an error in your SQL syntax near '= gl_comments.sid) AND (gl_stories.perm_anon >= 2) AND (gl_stories.draft_flag = ' at line 1 SQL in question:
SELECT DISTINCT count(*) AS dups, type, question, gl_stories.title, gl_stories.sid, qid, max(gl_comments.date) as lastdate FROM gl_comments LEFT JOIN gl_stories ON ((.sid = gl_comments.sid) AND (gl_stories.perm_anon >= 2) AND (gl_stories.draft_flag = 0) AND (tid IN ('General','GeekLog'))) LEFT JOIN gl_pollquestions ON ((qid = gl_comments.sid)
AND (gl_pollquestions.perm_anon >= 2)) WHERE (gl_comments.date >= (DATE_SUB(NOW(), INTERVAL 172800 SECOND))) AND ((((gl_stories.perm_anon IS NOT NULL))) OR (((gl_pollquestions.perm_anon IS NOT NULL)))) GROUP BY gl_comments.sid ORDER BY 7 DESC LIMIT 15 <img src=
Anyone know what I might try here? Many thanks...
I had the same problem. I'm running Mac OS 10.2.8 consumer not server. Fresh install and wham the 1064 error. I have had geeklog installed on my mac before and had no problem but when i reinstalled recently over and over now (for the last 14 hours in fact) 1064 error. The soultion is in the fact that there are line breaks in the dreeded LEFT JOIN area in the lib-common. I took all the line breaks out of the sql call in BBedit lite making sure to save the save pref used UNIX line breaks not mac and it know works. I find it odd that I tried it in pico and had no success. I do know that mac line breaks have always been a thorn in the side in php coding ( my mac has broke a million of em ). Just make sure the sql call is all on one line, no wrap and save with Unix line breaks.
hope that helps. I'm going to have a comma now
