first time user of geeklog. looks nice, does what i want.. doesnt have un-needed options. however on installing.. i got an error with the SQL script...

Are you, by any chance, trying to run the contents of sql/mysql_tableanddata.php directly in MySQL (or phpMyAdmin)? That would be wrong (and wouldn\'t work).
The proper way to install Geeklog is to create an empty database and then run the install script, which will set up the tables for you.
If that\'s what you\'ve been doing, then you should have an entry in Geeklog\'s error.log file, corresponding to the SQL error you get, that lists the offending SQL request. Please quote that line from error.log.
