Right now I'm setting up geeklog on my site at ironfeather.com[*1]
I wanted to be able to have pages about other people on there (for example see this page[*2] ) with their own header & footer so I edited lib-common.php so that now each topic has its own header.thtml & footer.thtml see my instructions at: here
Now I can make a topic area unique and then I wanted to make custom blocks for it. But with the default blocks (for example upcomming events block) that was tricky as they want to either not be activated or shown on every page. so with another edit in lib-common.php I was able to make it so that the upcomming events block is now only shown on a page that is not a topic. code/instructions : here[*4]
With these mods you can make it so each topic serves a different person or system. There are still more mods to make tho, such as when you leave the topic (for example: logging out or using the gallery) you then default back to the home header/footer & blocks. cheers! stevyn/ironfeather PS: my next mod is to make geeklog work with .htaccess drop mail if U have any infos, ideas, etc.

what was happening is that in search.php you can search all topics and it makes topics=0 which then attempts to use a 0header.thtml and 0footer.thtml.. ack...
so i made a new variable, $topic2 that you can pass and it wont interfere. ok the new infos are at:

Cheers!
