Does anyone know how to add menu items to the Admin Block? Would like to have a couple of links for site admins only, but not sure how to incorporate that.
Any help is appreciated.

Plugins can add links to the Admin menu.
If you don't want to write a plugin, then you will need to modify function COM_adminMenu() in lib-common.php.

Take a look at the
Menu plugin[*1] . You can add items for different groups/users.

I have tried to move the statistics to the admin block.
I have added
$retval .= '<a href="http://localhost/geeklog-1.4.0b1/public_html/stats.php">Site Statistics</a><br>';
// This function will show the user options for all installed plugins
// (if any)
to function COM_userMenu( $help='', $title='' ) in lib-common.php. This added a menu entry. Not in the Admins only block, but in the User Functions block.

Well, that's what you would expect, given the function's name. Hint: There's also a function COM_adminMenu ...
