After installing 'journal', I start seeing error message below when I try to use search function. I've seen couple of posting regarding this error message, but there're no help for me.
You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 1 SQL in question: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM
I tried to uninstall it, but it keeps saying
"There was an error"
I also try to refer a distributed document, but no information for the uninstall even though I could follow the instructions for the install;-)
Thank you in advance,
I'd like remove 'journal' plugin completely!

Call up the plugin's install script http://yoursite/admin/plugins/journal/install.php. If it tells you that it is locked, go into your database and change the "journal" entry in gl_vars from 1 to 0. Then try calling up the install script again.
After the uninstall went through, you can remove the three directories /path/to/geeklog/plugins/journal, /path/to/geeklog/public_html/journal and /path/to/geeklog/public_html/admin/plugins/journal.
bye, Dirk

The error is from the search.php plugin trying to search the journal plugins "private" journal entries. Simple way to fix, remove the search plugin function in search.php. Not terribly useful anyway.

It's up to you, but I think it would be better if you removed or fixed the search function in the journal plugin. If you remove the search plugin feature in search.php, then you will disable this capability for other plugins you add which use Gl's search.
