Their is an image gallery program called 4images (www.4homepages.de) that I would like to use with GL. Has anyone used this and if so has anyone had success bridging it like I've seen done with phpBB or Gallery. The reason why I am not using Gallery is because the person hosting my site uses W2K and we are having a very difficult time getting it to run.
Thanks,
Frank

Have you had a look at the Geekary[*1] ? It is a genuine Geeklog plugin that resembles 4images in many ways.
bye, Dirk

I agree with Dirk. I spent the better part of last night getting Gallery to work on a Win2K box. Geekary took me about half an hour this afternoon

I'd like some info on 4images as well. I definitely want GL to integrate well with my gallery.
I tried to intstall Geekary and couldn't get it to work on a UNIX box running PHP 4 and MySQL 3.23. While Geekary looks really cool and seems to have most of the functionality that 4images does I don't want to use the terms "Geekary" or "Geekages" it's just too silly for my site and, coming from a background in Web Project Mgmt, Usability, and Info. Architecture, I don't think their meaning is obvious (no offense to you Moshiach - I really know you've put your heart and soul into Geekary and I appreciate that). If I can get Geekary to work and if I can change the terms displayed I'll use it. If not I'd rather install 4images and try to find a bridge to integrate it with the GL permissions/login system.
Please, no flaming, I know beggers can't be choosers but that's my opinion.
So, that said, anyone have info on a bridge for 4images? I see it's installed on Matthew's site on http://www.cweb.ws but it looks like he hasn't made a bridge either.

You can use the language file to change all references to Geekary to something else. I refer to it as Media Gallery at http://curran.ca - it was pretty easy to change and you'll find no reference to Geekary anywhere on the site. The fact that its a real Geeklog plugin is a big plus.

Thank you very much! I'll try to get Geekary running on my site again and make the changes to the language file. I really don't mean to rag on the developer of Geekary, I think the program's great I just don't like the name - call me picky.
