i installed geeklog 1.3.6.
previously i was runing v.1.3.5
i was using the slovenian language file of even older version
but it was working fine
when i upgraded - must saj it is quite a job - the slovenian language seemed to work fine - except for the admin functions - they did not - and they still don't ... not even on language file
http://www.gape.org/geeklog/language/slovensko136.txt
wich i assembled together
i added missing things from the new file to old file
hopefully all of them
well ... i added one komma _ , _ to many and there were no more articles ... huuuuuuh
good thing that i upgraded yesterday and had a copy of a database still at hand ...
that would qualify for 'incomplete translations of the language files' or not?if so
what does that mean
In short, admin/story.php is missing a sanity check. This has already been fixed in CVS.
does that mean that admin/story.php is insane?
in yesterdays dl?
and
language file where $LANG24[11] is not empty but has the equivalent of the word
mine says:
11 => "IzbriĆĄi",
that should be ql?
so ... the q is ... why cant i as a root user save a story or even change it with language file slovensko136 ?
with english it works ...
do i make any sense?
i allmost forgot
what is paul's storry ... is it true?
i mean ... i would rather not try it
is the point here that i should dl and use this file?
File: [SourceForge] / geeklog / geeklog-1.3 / public_html / admin / story.php (download)
Revision 1.68
Fixed bug #615724 "Date on previewed stories in noon hour". Also added sanity
checks to prevent loss of stories in case of incomplete translations.
that this one is not insaine ... that version of fila doesn't even work
tnx guys

Sorry, I have a hard time trying to understand what you're saying ...
The "missing sanity check" refers to a bug in Geeklog 1.3.6. Because of this bug and under certain circumstances, Geeklog will delete all your stories. As far as I know, this will only happen if you have an incomplete language file or if you manipulate the URL (and have Admin access).
This bug is fixed in 1.3.7rc1, so please try again with that version.
If you're having problems with the language file, you can send it to me (or upload it here on the site) and I will have a look at it (although I don't speak Slovanian ;-)
Hope that answers your questions ...

i belive that you do not understand what i tried to tell you
basically i wanted to explain a bug i think
you are saying that i should upgrade to version 1.3.7. to loose the posibility of accidentaly delete files?
quite a yob ...
i have to check for changes in language file and changes in template
... is there somethig else?
was 1.3.6. release candidate?
i thought that i dl-ed a final-version file, or was yust that one that buggy - not buggy, but so dangerous to install
i mean ... the site is a production site ... how long shuld i wait to find out if a released version of geek is usable, since you do not recommend tu upload a rc on produstion site?
understandable?
yes
tha language file
the link to it is displayed up-in-my-post ... you can paste a link to where i should upload it
we are translating it ... but i can't find out why admin functions are not working

As I already said, I really have a hard time trying to understand your point ...
That bug you are trying to tell me about is well known and, as I said, fixed in 1.3.7rc1. There has been an earlier story[*1] about this already to which you seem to have posted the exact same comment already (sorry, didn't see that earlier).
Not sure what you mean by "was 1.3.6. release candidate?". 1.3.6 has the above-mentioned bug. It is (or rather, will be) fixed by 1.3.7, once that version is officially out. If you don't want to upgrade (for whatever reason), then you either have to live with the bug or try to retro-fit the bugfix to your 1.3.6 install. I see from your comments that you already found the relevant change in CVS - it should be easy to apply with some minimal knowledge of PHP.
I tested your Slovanian language file with Geeklog 1.3.7rc1 and can post stories just fine (being logged in as an Admin). There may be problems depending on the theme you are using. Some themes are not yet updated for 1.3.6 (there were a lot of theme changes in 1.3.6, specifically in the Admin area and specifically for localisation). Please try again with one of the themes that ship with Geeklog 1.3.6.
Btw, if you want to keep up to date with your translation, you are encouraged to join the geeklog-translations mailing list. Changes to the language files will be posted there, so that you can update your translation in time for future releases.
bye, Dirk

thanks dirk
next time i will post a new story rather than reply in comment
i will try to upgrade theme(s) to 1.3.6, and from there to 1.3.7. if i understand correctly ... afcourse when i will get the sources for 1.3.7 ... i will check back for 1.3.7. stable version
for the language file
i was using the glass theme, and a slovene136
the glass should be an 1.3.6. version ... or is it not?
i subscribed to translations, so in version 1.3.7. we will see slovenian translation of geeklog ... hopefully

No, the Glass theme does not work correctly with Geeklog 1.3.6. To fix it, remove the layout/Glass/admin folder and copy over the admin folder from one of the themes that ship with Geeklog (it shouldn't really matter which one).
As a rule of thumb: If you go to the Admin story editor and see the "save" etc. buttons on the top, then that theme has not been properly ported to Geeklog 1.3.6. These themes usually work with the English language file, but not with other languages.
