I have created two sites using the same database
now I want users to be able to log in once and surf both sites.
Does anyone know how to do this.
Thanks

To be recognised as a logged-in user, you also need a cookie from the site you're visiting. But site A can not set a cookie for site B ...
You would have to add some code that makes site A accept the cookie from site B and vice versa.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you use some PHP code to set an
extra cookie in header.thtml?---L. Whitworth

Apart from the fact that header.thtml wouldn't be the best place for that: If you have two domains, say aaa.com and bbb.com, then bbb.com can not set a cookie for aaa.com - a cookie is always tied to the domain it's coming from.
If your sites are on subdomains or subdirectories of the same domain, then setting a second cookie should work.

Thanks for the help,
These sites are under the same domain.
Does anyone have an example of this that can be used with Geeklogs.
The help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the posts...
One more question for the experts,
I have set up one domain with two installations where each installation has a different table into one database. My first question is this correct. I am trying to have it set up so that two different departments can upload their own information, have their own look, but allow the user to only log in to one or the other using the same username and password. Second question is this possible to do and how.
Next as far as setting cookies. Has anyone attempted this and is there any examples out there to show what needs to be included to make this work.
Any help would be great.
