The IndexNow plugin for Geeklog has been updated to version 1.2.1, with a strong focus on security, reliability, and easier administration.
This release keeps compatibility with Geeklog 2.1.1 through 2.2.2 and improves the way URLs are submitted to IndexNow-compatible search engines. The plugin now performs stricter URL validation, verifies anonymous access before submitting content, and records submission history so administrators can see which URLs were accepted, skipped, rejected, or later remediated.
One of the main additions in 1.2.1 is the new Security Cleanup mechanism. Previously submitted URLs can be audited locally, and URLs that are now private, deleted, or replaced by a different canonical URL can be queued for a safe recrawl. Pending cleanup requests are processed automatically by the Geeklog scheduled task, while administrators can also run a cleanup batch manually from the new administration dashboard.
The release also improves interoperability with Geeklog itself. IndexNow now uses permission-aware Geeklog callbacks when working with content from other plugins, submits scheduled URLs in controlled batches, and detects when the XMLSitemap plugin also has its IndexNow option enabled. In that case, the administrator is warned so that XMLSitemap can continue generating sitemaps while the dedicated IndexNow plugin remains the single provider for IndexNow notifications.
The administration interface has also been reorganized and its visible messages are now language-file driven, making it easier for the community to provide additional translations.

This release should be especially useful for administrators maintaining older Geeklog installations while providing a safer upgrade path toward more recent Geeklog environments.
