A new version of the AmazonLinks plugin for Geeklog is now available.
AmazonLinks 1.1.0 is a substantial modernization of the plugin while keeping compatibility with Geeklog 2.1.1 and later and PHP 5.6 and later.
AmazonLinks automatically adds relevant Amazon affiliate links to Geeklog articles by matching configurable keywords and phrases.
What’s new in AmazonLinks 1.1.0?
This release introduces a new administration interface and moves the plugin configuration to the Geeklog Configuration API.
Contextual rules are now stored safely as JSON data instead of executable PHP configuration files. Existing AmazonLinks 1.0 installations can be upgraded automatically, with special attention given to installations where several Geeklog sites share the same plugin files.
Other improvements include:
- automatic Amazon links on full article pages;
- configurable keyword, phrase and substring matching;
- rule priorities and optional topic restrictions;
- configurable Amazon marketplaces and affiliate tags;
[amazonlinks:...]autotags, including ASIN links;- optional custom link labels;
- several button color presets;
- improved affiliate-link handling;
- CSRF protection and safer data storage;
- English and French language support.
The plugin also includes the new static plugin.json metadata manifest used by modern Geeklog ecosystem tools such as Monitor.
AmazonLinks remains lightweight and does not require Composer, an external API or additional plugin database tables.
