A couple months ago I had a user request to port the MyHeadlines
[*1] module to Geeklog. I did, and forgot to tell anyone about it. Well now I've released v4.2.6 and of course there's a Geeklog version.
What is MyHeadlines?
- MyHeadlines is personalized content syndication: This news reader module allows each of your users to subscribe to the news sources that most interest them. It maintains their subscriptions and presents all the headlines from each of their source subscriptions
- MyHeadlines is a powerful current events search engine: All news gathered by MyHeadlines is searchable and produces fantastic results. Want to know what's up with the Michael Jackson[*2] case?
- MyHeadlines is a re-usable PHP Class: this Syndication engine can be used as the foundation for any PHP MySQL website. The category tree and aggregation features make it highly competitive in the market place, and the free price tag is nice too. There are a couple "for-pay" features, but nothing that limits the functionality of the base object.
I don't know if I got the port to Geeklog just right, so if you see any bugs or things that I should have done... Please let me know via the Source Forge
