Well, you folks asked for it and here it is. This is the first ever article with images attached directly to it. As many of you know, I run Iowa Outdoors an outdoors website. This first picture is a nice buck that is typical of the large corn-fed deer you can find here in Iowa. This trophy buck, for those interested, was taken just north of Des Moines near Ames. My guess is, however, that many of you aren't that interested in deer. If so, keep reading...I have other critters to show you!
This next photo is of my dog aptly named Hunter. Hunter is a golden retriever that I got with grand visions of great pheasant hunts. This dream has materialized yet but it will. As you can see, Hunter loves water. This is one of my favorite pictures of him. This photo was taken at Big Creek lake just north of Des Moines. For those who like digital cameras/camcorders, I took this photo with a JVC GRDVM-90. It is a better camcorder than camera but it did manage to take this decent picture.
This last picture is of a wild turkey just taken a week ago here in central Iowa. Many city dwellers often joke of Iowa and wonder what you would do here. Well, if you love the outdoors you can see there are plenty of things you can hunt. Our wild turkey season is going on as week speak and I'm an running a contest where the person with the turkey with the longest beard wins. I managed to scrounge up some free goodies from Hunter Specialties which is an Iowa-based outdoors company specializing in hunter accessories.
OK, I'm sure I've bored you long enough. Now image some cooler images in better article on your very own Geeklog site!
