Yes it realy needs a rewrite

I started with geeklog about a year ago. At that time was the best news publishing package available.
Since latest developments I stopped using new versions and do it myself. A lot of developers are performing in a MicroSoft style: Fix one bug and introduce a couple of others.
Programming is more than just \'script away\' and see what\'s happening.

I think with the release of 1.3.2 you\'ll see GL become really stable. We aren\'t planning anymore major feature additions to Geeklog in the 1.3.x tree. Yes, we\'ll add more bugfixes, yes we\'ll add a small feature or two but 1.3.2 needs to get stable and needs to be able to compete well with the other weblogs/blogs/CMS\'s/etc.
Now, as far as rewriting, no a complete rewrite won\'t be necessary. We will be creating PHP Objects (true OO) that will consist of many of the functions already in Geeklog. However, I do think that GL\'s database model needs some serious work done to it if we want to take the next step which, obviously, requires some coding changes and, to be frank, there are a number of places Geeklog needs to improve in. The goal is to build a system that is fast, secure, yet flexible. I know, you can\'t have your cake and eat it too but we can definitely improve things. I\'d love to see Geeklog get packaged in a *nix distro, be used in school systems, be used on corporate intranets yet be simple enough to install and configure for the hobbyists out there.
Or is my vision too grand?

All the luck, I\'m leaving.

geeklog rewrite is necessary, assuming of course he
does.

I\'m translating geeklog to Spanish (from Spain). Thanks for all again.
