At the time of writing .. it\'s important to note that \"Scratch\'n\'Sniff\" is MORE IMPORTANT than Web Admin, Installation Scripts AND Instant Messages combined. So, it\'s now an activated option on www.geeklog.net! If you scratch the \"Powered by Geeklog\" button on the top right of your screen, and stick your nose right up onto your monitor (go on, you know you want to), you\'ll get a good snort! What flavour is YOUR browser configured to?

Uh, how about archives of news? I can't seem to find older news.

At the bottom of the homepage and in each section there is now a google-like navigation to let you page through all the articles. Also, the search works fairly well too.

MySQL is nice, but, I have a server where PostgreSQL is already installed and running, and I\'d much prefer it if GeekLog supported PostgreSQL rather than having to run MySQL and PostgreSQL concurrently. Especially considering said server is a 486dx4/100 with only 32mb RAM...

I've been searching for a weblog that has support for pictures/photos: My last vacation, the nudies that I've been sent, etc...

Is GeekLog a good 'platform' (for lack of a better word at the moment) for something like this?

I don't want to have to write a custom weblog from scratch... ('cause I can)

There is a Photo Album plugin in development for the next release (1.3). I belive there is a demo of it at www.tonybibbs.com.

Other than that, yes it does support images in stories. There are a few bugs with it, but I think it was fixed for 1.3.

I think there is also a feature for "Picture for Story", which over-rides the default image for the topic, but I am not 100% sure.

Best asking on the mailing list.

I think the most important "new" feature geeklog should have is a login system that doesn't crap out for AOL users/randomly log people out at random intervals/totally ignore any and all configuration directives you happen to feed to it. Kinda like 1.5rc1. I also think it would be cool if "HTML Formatted" didn't have to be all-or-nothing. I have some admins who know just enough HTML to make links, and who are now very frustrated when they have to put in links. Again, it worked fine in 1.5rc1. I should've known not to listen all those times I was "strongly urged" to upgrade. :)

Full Unicode support would be fantastic! However if it is not possible, I would settle for partial Unicode support for ‘Posting’ purposes. The primary reason for this is to enable an ‘International Bulletin Board” wherein members of all Nations can post Comments in their respective language.

I have found little to none Unicode supported BBs.
One at Narisa.com, uses phpBB that has been modified to support Unicode.
See example: [http://www.narisa.com/forums/index.php ] .

Another solution would be to use Glyphgate Server Extensions on the web server. But this is an expensive addition.
See: [ http://www.glyphgate.com/info.index.html ] (time-limited demo is free)

In summary, a full Unicode supported program is utopian, but a partial Unicode supported form is great. Ultimately, a User selected language-interface [Multilingual User Interface (MUI) select] would accomplish the most flexibility for International forums.
