Hello!

I installed geeklog using an automated install from ipower. I keep getting the message that db-config.php is not in a secure place. I moved it out of the public_html folder to the root. Now nothing works. I have to move the file back to public_html to get access again.

Is there a config I need to do before moving the file?

It's unfortunate that some hosting services still use tools that install Geeklog in a way that we do not consider secure Frown

As explained in our installation instructions, some parts of Geeklog should be put in a place where they can not be reached from the web (for security reasons). Since you probably didn't do anything with your Geeklog install yet, I'd suggest you remove it and try a manual install instead.

See our installation instructions. If you can put files outside of the webroot, this FAQ entry will explain how to secure a Geeklog install: Installing Geeklog entirely within the web root

bye, Dirk
