Hi, I did the upgrade from 1.4.1 to 1.8.1.
Before I did the upgrade I disabled plug-ins (including staticpages). Now when I enable staticpages I get the following error. I'm thinking that the staticpages sql didn't update because I had disabled it before upgrading. So, I could reinstal my old database. Do you think this will work? Here is the error: PHP Formatted Code Mon 31 Oct 2011 14:44:45 PDT - 1054: Unknown column 'created' in 'field list'. SQL in question: SELECT sp_id,sp_title,sp_content,sp_format,created,modified,sp_hits,owner_id,group_id,perm_owner,perm_group,perm_members,perm_anon,sp_php,sp_inblock,sp_help FROM gl_staticpage WHERE (sp_centerblock = 1) AND (draft_flag = 0) AND (template_flag = 0) AND (sp_where = 0) AND ((sp_tid = 'none') OR (sp_tid = 'all')) AND (((owner_id = '2') AND (perm_owner >= 2)) OR ((group_id IN (2,18,24,4,7,27,28,29,21,22,23,25,17,11,5,13,12,10,8,1,15,14,3,19,6,20,9,26,30)) AND (perm_group >= 2)) OR (perm_members >= 2)) ORDER BY sp_id Thanks for any suggestions before I wreck my site even worse! It definetly didn't upgrade as the created field was introduced after 1.4.1 which appears to be missing with the error you got. When you enable the staticpage plugin in the plugin admin interface after upgrading Geeklog did you see a little upgrade icon appear in the staticpage plugin row?
If you do see one click on it and it should upgrade the staticpage plugin which should fix this error. Tom |

Hi Tom.
As soon as I enable staticpages it it errors. So I don't see any upgrade button. I have to go into phpadmin to manually disable the plugin, or else my site doesn't work at all. Keith |

Hi,
What is your current staticpage plugin version (see pi_version in gl_plugins table)? Ben We speak french on http://geeklog.fr |

The version number would be good to know.
How did your other plugins update? Did they upgrade automatically when they where disabled? (I believe they would but I would have to double check the code) Tom |

Thanks so much for your help Tom and Ben. I'm going to just restore the backup of the original site for now, as my time line is too short to attempt to alleviate the problem.
What I might do when I have time is two things, not disable the plug-ins when I upgrade, and only do smaller version leaps with the upgrading (more work, but likely safer). Again, thanks, Keith |

Yes but we also need to know your current staticpage plugin version. It could be a bug to not handle your version and solve it can be very easy.
Thanks, Ben We speak french on http://geeklog.fr |
