I was just wondering if Geeklog 2 would support Member Blogs. I assume this could probably be a plugin, but I just thought I would ask if anyone was thinking about this.

It would have to be done in a plugin. Right now the focus is on the core 1.4.x features being implementing in the new framework so a member blog feature hasn't be discussed yet.

The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

Any ideas how I could do something like this in 1.4? I thought about modifying the new user script to automatically create a new topic for every new user and give them ownership of that topic. Then I would use the topics as user blogs. Does this sound doable? Let me know if I need to ask this in another forum.

There's the Journal plugin and the User Pages (Upage) plugin for that already, although both are pretty old and don't seem to work too well with current Geeklog releases, from what I see posted here on the forums ...
bye, Dirk
