I downloaded the latest beta from the developer's site (I'd post this there if I spoke Polish), and also tried RC5 from the Geeklog downloads area, and neither of them will install.

I followed all the instructions (in the latest beta, the instructions in the admin dir are different from the ones in the main dir, and the HTML files have no HTML in them; mildly annoying), but no matter what I do, nothing happens.

Literally, nothing happens. I get to the page with the install button, I click the button, and the status line at the bottom of the Firefox windos goes from "waiting for.." to "done" without the page ever changing.

Nothing is added to the Geeklog error log. No tables are created. No changes of any kind to anything. I don't have access to the server logs, so I have no idea what's going on there.

As far as I can tell, it's not connecting to the MySQL database at all.

Is this a server thing? Any suggestions? Anyone?

I'm currently running Geeklog 1.4.0sr2 (updating now).

I have no idea what I'm doing.

Sounds like the plugin (which I've never used) requires register_globals to be "on".

bye, Dirk

Is there a way around that? I don't have access to the server stuff.

I have no idea what I'm doing.

Try adding this to your .htaccess file: php_flag register_globals on
If you do not have one, create it and upload it to your servers httpdocs or public folder. Google .htaccess for more info on this powerful tool.

Good things come to those who wait. Of course it does not hurt to to work like hell while you are waiting.
