I get to the point where I should be getting the success message but it is just a blank page with no errors. I have tried dropping the database and importing a backup and trying again but end with the same results.
Any ideas? Fixed. Turned out it was a problem with my plugins directory. However, now I get this. "public_html/layout/Classic/archivestorytext.thtml does not exist" Can I just copy those files into my existing themes? |

Yes, just copy it from the Professional theme that comes with the package.
Actually, you have to copy a few other files also. Read the documentation about the layout changes. |

Scubasteve, I'm having the exact same "blank page" problem. Could you please post what you did to fix it?
Thx! Solution: Disable all plug-ins and blocks that are not distributed with geeklog, then perform the upgrade. |

Instead of deleting the 'old' installation of Geeklog and then installing the 'upgrade', will it work to just copy the new Geeklog files 'over the top of' the old files, and then run the upgrade installation? John |

If you can make sure that you're replacing all the files - yes. But if you miss one or more files and end up with a mixture of old and new files, then that can lead to strange and unpredictable errors. Therefore, we recommend to remove all the old files first, to be on the safe side ... bye, Dirk |
