What text editors are you guys using to work with your php/html/etc files?
I'm looking for something simple without all the frilly stuff.
So let me know what I should check out.
Thanks.

Check out TextPad if you're working on a windows platform. Syntax colouring and good support for code snippets. Very reasonable at c. $20

I use WordPad in Windows, and sometimes Macromedia Homesite 5.
For CSS I use Topstyle from http://www.bradsoft.com

For editing PHP/HTML files, I like Quanta Plus on Linux.

The best editor I've worked with so far is Syn Text Editor. It's open source (free!) and is a text and programming editor. It has syntax highlighting - helpful for those html and php files.

I have tried many many freeware and shareware editors and notepad replacements before but this one imho is the best I've seen so far.

another opensource text editor that supports text highlighting, 40 plus languages, etc... is SciTE based on SCIntilla. 'tis awesome! I just came across it recently and have switched from VIM. Tabs are my favorite feature and is incredibly user friendly right down to the config files for the diff languages.
read all about it here.
