As seen on gplugs:
I have made a couple of speed improvements to the core geeklog files. The modifications are in system/lib-security.php (SEC_getUserGroups and SEC_getUserRights) and public_html/lib-common.php (COM_exportRDF and COM_rdfUpToDateCheck). I updated my site with this and the performance increase was quite dramatic. It only took about 1 minute to do the updates.

I've recieved a couple of emails recently asking for information about these hacks. They have all been incorporated into Geeklog as of 1.3.7, with some modifications/improvements going into 1.3.8.
