we're using Geeklog in our intranet as a tool for knowledge management.
In this situation we were in need of a glossary for storing project specific definitions in a structured way.
Now I have a first version of a Glossary Plugin available for beta test.

You are able to create, edit and delete glossary entries and assign them to categories and projects, to really put some structure in it (and to be able to export project specific glossary entries later).
E.g. in project A the term XYZ could mean something different than in project B.
And if you focus an technical terms you don't want to bother business terms.

Some features are missing right now:- integration in search function
- complete check of all values against existing glossary entries
- integration in statistics
- integration in preferences
- hardcore testing - especially de-/installation of the plugin
- an admin page for configuration of all elements (categories, projects, etc.)
- we want to extend the functionality a bit cause we also want to distinguish terms for different customers. I.e. when we have a glossary for one product which is partly "handcrafted" for different customers, there might be terms that have different meanings - or terms that have no meaning to one customer at all. (Clear? )

Finally the target is to have an export function to export a project specific glossary into a document - this way you can hand your glossary e.g. to the customer.

Is someone interested in this kind of plugin and (even more) interested in beta - testing this plugin?

I Kind of made the same thing.
Well, its for glossary but for translating words into other languages. I made it so that it would help me translate KDE into other language.
It allows me to search, add, edit, delete, approve words that are in the dictionary.

If they are approved then i list them in some other file so that they can be used when translating KDE.

i plan to add alot of features like:
login(user leves), statics and so many other features.

Since we use Geeklog for the site i plan to make that into a plugin and i will post it here for download.

The plugin is not really finished (as far as my wishes are concerned) - but it already works pretty good!

You can download it at here.
This is a site of Wim Niemans who helped developing the plugin some steps further.
You can also see the glossary in action in that site (as usual its linked in the menu on top of each page).
We use it in our intranet knowledge site and have seen no problems so far.
Actual version is 0.9.4, but as usual that doesn't mean anything in open source software.

Please let me know if you downloaded and tested it.
There should be no problems *knock-on-wood*.

There's a new version available on http://geeklog.schmacks.de.

New features:
- Entries on the glossary frontpage are now shown only to the first linefeed. Therefor a 'more'-link has been added to the template.
- Fixed some bugs with entry abbreviations mixing up regexp-patterns
- Added filter by timestamp to the index page (CR #13).
You can now select a time period during which entries were created and let the plugin show you exactly these entries.
