Manipulating and adding links in header

Does anyone know how to change the link names and add new links to the header? I want to change contact to read something different and add a few more links. is this space reserved only for static page links and links created from plugins? Thanks!!

Edit /path/to/geeklog/public_html/layout/<theme_name>/header.thtml The links are in there.---The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

Some themes use the menu_elements that are defined in lib-common.php rather than hard coded links in the layout directories.---Kevin
