The second release candidate for the Forum plugin ver2.6 has just been released. In the past month, there have been 700 downloads and a few issues have surfaced. The new release includes a text file summarizing the changes.

Mark Evans will be releasing a new version of his Captcha Plugin and this release includes his changes for the forum to be able to support using Captcha verification for all users or just anonymous users. This site is now running the RC2 version, so please report any issues. If this release does not not reveal any major issues, then I will be able to release a final version in a few weeks.

There are no database changes, only file changes. Best option is to replace all the program files and templates or view the changed files log. This would be a good time to send me any language translations to be included in the final release.

Great stuff!

Just a small thing: I find the cneterblock layout a bit confusing. The mouseover for the block shows how the line highlights. However, there are two different link in the line, one for the forum and one for the single post. I recommend to either put only a link for the post under the whole line or make a mouseover hightlight for the text that is linked also to understand immediately that klicking on the forum name is taking you to the forum and not the post.

There already is a "TITLE" text that says "Click to jump to forum" for the first link. It's quite easy to edit the template to remove the exta link, or make them both the same. Personally, I use both links and appreciate having them both available. If someone does not want the onhover detail, and would prefer a basic TITLE - np, easy for someone to edit the single template. The CSS for the onhover info is easy to theme via CSS and the positioning can be tweaked via the template as well.

On the site members link of the forum block:
when I click on "posts" in order to see the list sorted by no. of posts, I get it sorted by username.

It works when I check "Forum activity only", but not when displaying all users.
